Help to Buy
We’re putting homeownership back in reach for thousands of low-and-middle-income Australians and making rentals more secure and more affordable.
Labor wants more ordinary Australians to own their own homes and have more choice and security when it comes to renting.
The Help to Buy bill makes it easier for low- and middle-income Aussies to buy their own home.
The government will provide between 30% and 40% of the purchase price of the house meaning that participants can pay a smaller mortgage.
The Government retains its share of the purchase price, but it’s owned by the participant who can buy the Government out at any time.
This program will help 40,000 Australians into home ownership over 4 years.
