Pedestrian safety measures for Lidcombe Rise

Lidcombe Rise residents have told me they are concerned about pedestrian safety on Church St and the lack of pedestrian crossing.

Residents have advised that it is very difficult to cross the road during periods of higher traffic, and impossible for people with a disability, or parents who might have a stroller and smaller children.

This means that it is very difficult to get to the centre of Lidcombe and makes walking to and from the station very difficult.

In August 2024 I wrote to Cumberland Council to advocate for a pedestrian crossing on Church St. Council have now taken up this community suggestion and the crossing will be considered at the February 2025 meeting of the Traffic Committee.

Please scan the QR code to sign my petition to advocate for pedestrian safety in our community and ask Council to build this crossing. I will table the petition at the Traffic Community meeting.

Together, we can push the better amenity and ensure that everyone in our community is safe on our streets.
